Kansas Adventure

The guys were up and to the airport early this morning.  I decided that Grace and Jackson should get a special day as well.  After sleeping late, we got up and drove to Hutchinson where we visited the Kansas Cosmosphere.  Neither myself nor the kids had been before.  The Cosmosphere is a space museum and super cool.  There are authentic space relics (lunar module, LEM, rockets).  Jackson even got to ride in a centrifuge.  You could see his expression on a display outside the ride – he looked worried a couple of times, but most of the time had a big grin on his face.  They also had an IMAX theater.  One of the movies showing was entitled “Sea Monsters:  A Prehistoric Adventure”.  Of course my junior paleontologist Jackson had to see it.  I have to admit it was quite an experience.

On the way home I was muttering to myself somewhere in Great Bend about finding the right highway to get on.  Grace piped up and informed me that Daddy ALWAYS knows how to get home.  I replied that if we had been in Oklahoma I would ALWAYS know how to get home as well.

Right now Eric and Andy should be somewhere over the ocean.  They probably won’t arrive in Tokyo until about 1:00 am our time and then a few hours after that in Beijing.  All in all they will have traveled for about 24 hours straight.  I for one am pretty happy to be kicked back in my recliner right now.
