We are Andy, Dana, Jackson and Grace Stanton. When we got married in 1999, we knew we wanted to start a family very soon (we were both 30 at the time). In August of 2000, Jackson made his arrival into our family. Dana had a “normal” pregnancy, but was glad to get that baby out on August 29! (it was 112 degrees in Dodge City that day!)

After a miscarriage in 2002, we started thinking about adoption. Both Dana and her sister were adopted, so it was an easy choice for us. In January of 2004, we started paperchasing for Gracie. You can read her story at http://www.andydanastanton.com/ChinaAdoption/AdoptionIndex.html

We weren’t planning on adding to our family. We had what we wanted: one boy and one girl. But that all changed the first week of June 2007. One of our friends on the Kansans With Children From China Yahoo! group sent an e-mail about a little boy who was on a waiting child list at the Hope For Children adoption agency website. Alyssa sends these out every few weeks and Dana ususally looks at them and goes on with life. This time it was different. She looked and saw this cute little boy named Dang Hui. She went on with her day. The next day she looked and she showed Andy. He agreed that he was cute, but we weren’t looking to add to our family right now. After a few days, Dana kept looking at him and showed Andy a few more times. Before we knew it, we had decided to adopt this little boy.

We hope to have all of our paperwork finished by the end of the summer and we could possibly travel by Christmas. Please wish us luck and say a prayer for all of the Stantons. Pray that Dang Hui (Gabriel Andrew to us) is loved and cared for in the orphanage. Pray that we find the money to pay for all of the adoption expenses. Pray that Andy and our friend Eric have safe travels to China and pray for a smooth transition for Jackson, Grace and Gabriel as we become a family of five.
